Boletus I is part of series of drawings that Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva makes, they are all unique and individual using different mushrooms collected by the artist on her long walks in different seasons. They are made by covering the mushroom, controlling the environment and letting nature do its thing. They internal maggots’ bread and through slow eating the mushroom creates movement leaving traces on the paper. Inspired by decomposing tissue and landscape.
