They are inspired by the work of scientists who are developing and testing biodegradable microscopic spheres, which are implanted in people's bodies to slowly release pre-loaded drugs, or to provide a scaffold upon which damaged tissues can regrow.
Each piece is 3D printed using polylactic acid, a biodegradable and bioactive polyester. Formed as a globe, the artwork considers the relationship between the bodies and the planet; how we impact and influence one another.
